Former pop-up restaurant BAK is finally here to stay which is a dream come true for many Amsterdammers among us. The restaurant is located along the IJ waterfront on the third floor of the warehouse Het Veem. BAK takes innovative cooking to the next level with their ‘forgotten’ ingredients, natural wines and locally produced products of high quality.
Heading to Amsterdam West. We stop at an industrial-looking building. Used as a storage warehouse for tobacco, coffee and cocoa in VOC times, the building now houses small offices for local entrepreneurs, theatre 'Het Veem' and of course BAK!
Chef Benny Blisto transforms every meal into an experience, using solely biological ingredients. Their recent change to only using wild meat & fish shows their quest for a better world.

But not only the food but also the view is a treat! Grab a seat and enjoy the spectacular view over the IJ river (especially at sunset). Working with set menus of 5 or 7 courses, you'll have no choice but let yourself be surprised by the quality of this amazing concept. We especially recommend the wine pairings, their natural wines matching perfectly with the delicious meals.
Wish to stay in this beautiful part of Amsterdam? Around the corner from BAK restaurant, you'll find Yays Zoutkeetsgracht, a restored 17th-century salt warehouse transformed into unique boutique apartments. Want to stay with a group? Yays Bickersgracht will cater to all your needs.
