The most popular figure around this time is coming back again: the Catalan 'Tió de Nadal' ('uncle of Christmas'). This small wooden figure with a cute face and tiny wooden legs is an all-time favourite for local kids (and grown ups). Dozens, if not, hundreds of stalls will be filled with this little native waiting to be bought. Fira de Santa Llúcia is indeed your perfect chance to get yourself a local Christmas gift. And if you don't fancy its adorable looks, you will find yourself in a world full of mistletoes, Christmas bells and other colourful decorations to make any home brighter. This traditional Christmas market dating back from 1786 will make its annual return from early December until Christmas. Its beautiful location, right at the iconic Plaza de Catedral, is a reason itself to make a visit.
