Parisians have a soft spot for unique items with meaningful stories behind them. Can you blame them, with so many amazing flee markets that are troves of memorabilia? Join the treasure hunt and prepare for serendipity: get your hands on a copy of a rare or classic book over a stroll along the Seine, or delve into the local thrift scene for that unique wardrobe piece you were hoping for. Start the quest at Marché aux puces de Saint-Ouen, one of the most popular in the city alongside Porte de Vanves and Les Puces de Montreuil, but don’t stop there: the city is full of interesting second-hand clothes stores (called friperies or dépôts-ventes). Get on digging!
