New Year’s Eve, known by the locals als Nochevieja, is traditionally celebrated with friends and family at home or at Barcelona's main squares. From 11.30pm people gather around at Poble Espanyol, Placa Espanya or around the Ramblas to enjoy some of Barcelona’s best live musicians and spectacular fireworks. Join the countdown the local way by eating a grape for good luck each time the bell rings before midnight. Cheers to good health and a great start of 2018!
